Our History

The House of "de Marne" can trace its origins back to the town of Vitry-le-François. Situated on the banks of the River Marne, this county town was founded in 1545 by the inhabitants of the former Vitry-en-Perthois, a town also known as "Vitry-le-Brulé" which had been destroyed in 1544 by King Charles V.

During the reign of King Henry IV, the de Marnes were masters of artillery in the army of Northern France.

In the 19th century the "gentilshommes" de Marne forged an alliance through marriage with a noble family of Champagne producers. The family has produced its own unique wines since 1899.

We have always endeavored to bring joy and pleasure both to intimate tête-à-tête dinners and those grand festive occasions by providing traditional quality.

For us luxury is not a matter of conspicuous show but rather of the discrete ambience of classical elegance. Our latest creation, a rosé, elegant and feminine, accompanies a selection of our classic wines and our renowned cuvée préstige. A gift for that special person or to celebrate a memorable event? May we recommend our gift collection, fine wines worthy of that unforgettable occasion.
